Groups
Some of our deepest wounds were acquired in relationships and only through safe relationships can we heal them. Therapy groups are a great place to experiment with new skills, increase your relational self-awareness, learn interpersonal triggers, receive support, and work through previous relational trauma.
Group is also a place to receive encouragement, hope, and feel a sense of belonging.
You know all of those amazing lessons you are learning about yourself in individual therapy?
In a process group, you will have a safe space to practice those new skills, receive feedback, and support. The group creates a container where you can experiment with new ways of relating, increase relational self-awareness, learn interpersonal skills and triggers, and work through previous relational difficulties.
Before joining the group we will have a consultation to see if the group is a good fit for the support you are looking to receive.
My Group Experience
I absolutely love facilitating process groups and have seen the immense impact that groups have on people’s lives. My group training and foundation started while I was under the supervision of Michael Frank LMFT, current director of the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles. Under his supervision at the Maple Center, I attended one year of intensive psychodynamic process group training while co-leading two process groups: Queer Space for LGBTQ+ folks, and Creating Meaningful Relationships for older adults. During my time at Maple I also attended a process group for therapists, which included a deep exploration of group processes and interventions. I hope to continue learning about group process, and provide a space where people can explore their relational selves and heal past interpersonal wounds while receiving support and encouragement from others.
